Hello, I’m Robert McCaleb. Over my 20+ years in technology I have chased my passion for learning. I have done this by “being hands on keyboard” and used the opportunity with every position to grow. Whether those skills be technical, managerial or simply because I wanted to know more about a particular discipline. After building a solid base in Servers, Networking, Automation Engineering, Customer Service and People Management, I moved on to Presales. I am a people person but I also crave the deep technical side of the house. This is why I naturally settled into Solution Engineering/Architecture. A quick snap shot of influential events thus far are….• Managed the 4th largest DNS network in the world per ISC. I helped grow @Home Network from 10k customers to well over 1 million within 18 months.• Automated and lead the NOC at LoudCloud allowing ¼ the number of people to not only do “the” job but also increased customer satisfaction to 99%+. • Lead a team of 16 US engineers in a joint EDS/NTT COM webhosting offering. Lived in Tokyo for 6 months facilitating success.• I deployed this same NOC automation technology and method for EDS to manager over 350,000 servers worldwide (post LoudCloud Acquisition) living in Spain for 6 months for the EMEA deployment.• Helped develop, train and lead a new way of customer collaborative POCs. This increased TCV by up to 300% when employed. • Lead the presales container champion program for HPE in conjunction with Docker, Mesosphere. This included setting up and maintaining the North America Lab for Automation to enable solution engineers/architects to successfully pass Docker certifications.• Pivoted HPE OneSphere Product from a “building of clouds” product strategy to one of governance, zero ops and un-intrusive de-risk of cloud management platforms. This increased qualified opportunities to POCs by 50%+. • Lead Architect for HPE Private OpenStack cloud via Platform9
