Highly skilled embedded product designer and developer with system level to component level architectural design capabilities in the areas of network platforms, telematics and wireless communications. Generate the team’s bi-weekly sprint activities using Jira based on release planning input from product management. Generated most Jira tasks based on design requirements.• Lead Firmware Architect on CalAmp’s next generation Location Messaging Unit (LMU) project, based on the MDM9207 QCT chipset. Created a new common architectural framework to allow the existing bare metal architecture to become multi-threaded and platform independent. Implemented the base framework, a generic sub-system template, and a number of the modules in the LMU architecture. The LMU platform is intended to exist on Embedded Linux and RTOS, and currently on ThreadX and FreeRTOS using a HAL and POSIX based OSAL.• Designed and implemented LMU modules for QCT CAT4/1/M LTE based modem, SMS, and GPS as well as FOTA, Message Bus, Watchdog, System Time, router, and a number of other LMU based sub-systems. Designed CalAmp’s first MDM based Access Point. • Created the design process and directed the team to implement sub-systems using templated design documents, a coding standard and a templated base code. Use of Confluence, Doxygen, Bit Bucket, and Team City to create a continuous integration environment, and auto document generation.
