Senior officer, member of executive management team, chief legal counsel, head of human resources and head of risk management to one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of windows and doors in North America. Significant accomplishments include: • Managed litigation portfolio involving, on average, more than 200 pending lawsuits and claims across the country. • Responsible for management and oversight of the company’s Ethics Hotline and all related investigations, as well as all internal employment-related investigations. • Successfully led the company through DOJ and ICE investigation related to immigration status of the company’s workforce, which resulted in the complete overhaul of the company’s hiring policies, controls and training, a complete review of the immigration status and remediation of the company’s workforce and successfully prosecuted civil action against those responsible for damages associated with the DOJ investigation. • Served as lead counsel with regard to all mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, drafting and negotiation of all major supply agreements and real estate transactions. • Managed legal aspects of turnaround resulting in streamlining of operations throughout the company, including significant SG&A reduction and implementation of strategic cost-saving initiatives which assisted in improving the company’s adjusted EBITDA more than 350% year over year. • Served as team leader and counsel in the company’s successful 2010 Chapter 11 proceeding, which resulted in the company’s emergence from bankruptcy 100 days after its initial filing and reducing the company’s leverage from $680 million to $260 million, ensuring payment in full to all trade creditors (In re: Atrium Corporation, et al., Case No. 10-10150 (BLS), in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware). The company received the 2011 Atlas Award for Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year for Upper Middle Markets.
