Working with a caseload of 20 individuals, I use a variety of cognitive-behavioral approaches, relapse-prevention groups to help my clients learn to develop healthy coping skills for dealing with cravings and to enhance their self -control. Such specific techniques used include exploring the positive and negative consequences of continued use, self-monitoring to recognize cravings, and strategies for identifying, coping with or avoiding high-risk situations. Client progress notes, treatment plans and client updates are completed within DOH requirements.

I provide drug and alcohol treatment and case-management services to adults presenting with an illicit opiate addiction and co-occurring diagnosis concerns. My responsibilities in this job include providing appropriate individual and group counseling services on a weekly basis. I often assess a client's need for methadone dose adjustment and frequently confer session outcomes to nurses and the Program Psychiatrist as needed.
