It's about XGSLab software, which has become a significant part of my professional journey.My work in electromagnetic simulations began in 1995 during my Ph.D., where I developed original algorithms for modeling power systems, railway systems, grounding, lightning protection, and evaluating electromagnetic fields and interference. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that many of these algorithms aligned with the PEEC method, a standard in the field.In 1998, I implemented these models into what would later become XGSLab. Initially, I used XGSLab internally for consultancy work, and in 2007 I released the first commercial version of the GSA module.The real turning point came in 2014 when XGSLab expanded significantly with new modules and a sophisticated multilayer soil model. These upgrades broadened its applicability across soil surfaces, high-frequency scenarios (up to 100 MHz), and time-domain analyses.Today, XGSLab has grown into a comprehensive toolset with seven specialized modules:- Four modules based on field theory and PEEC: Ideal for grounding, interference, and lightning analysis.- One module using circuit theory and Phase Components Method: Specifically designed for power and railway systems, with capabilities for fault current distribution analysis.- Two modules focused on lightning shielding: Using Rolling Sphere and Eriksson methods.XGSLab is now recognized as one of the most advanced and precise electromagnetic simulation software packages in the industry, particularly for power systems, grounding, interference, and lightning analysis.
