Partner at KPMG, International and M&A at São Paulo. Mr. Salles started his career in the audit and consulting field and developed expertise in multidisciplinary projects involving tax and corporate law. He has solid experience in tax litigation, both in administrative and judicial levels. Participated in groundbreaking cases in innovative subject matter such as ISS (service tax) exemption of franchise agreements and ISS exemption of sea freight.Ex-faculty of postgraduate courses in Tax Law with Faculdades Milton Campos and PUC-Minas, besides several modules of specific extension courses in Tax Law. Over a seven-year span, Roberto created, coordinated and administered the Oil and Gas Industry Tax Law program offered by IBP – Instituto Brasileiro do Petróleo e Gás Natural (Brazilian Oil and Natural Gas Institute).He taught international training courses for senior-level personnel at Andersen, offered at the firm’s training facilities in Chicago. In 2000-2001, Roberto was appointed as the legal practice training coordinator for all of Brazil, representing the country in a group with representatives from Latin American countries in which Andersen had operations.Salles was ranked by Chambers Latin America in Tax for the past 4 years. The partner was also appointed as a leader in the Tax area in the surveys conducted by the British publication The Legal 500 in its last two editions.
