Operating within the Digital & Technology team and reporting directly to the Head of IT & Cloud Operations, my role spans across cloud infrastructure, services, operations, cost optimisation & engineering. Technical ownership of our cloud environment. Technical leadership across Cloud, Architecture, Integration, DevOps, SecOps, FinOps, Enterprise monitoring & automation, with a focus on a DevOps-based life cycle (plan, build, test, deploy, manage).This role has provided me with the opportunity to identify and develop a cloud capability infrastructure, operations, FinOps, monitoring and engineering from both a technical viewpoint as well as an organisation, people, and cultural understanding. Maturing such capabilities has been possible by understanding & aligning our strategy and priorities and adopting a flexible roadmap for achieving the end goal.

The role provided me with the opportunity to lead conversations with clients on their strategic agenda and how our offerings align and will create impact in this context. Lead project delivery including guiding the team and the client, managing delivery, and making strategic recommendations across a full set of cloud infrastructure advisory & engineering to achieve true business value for Deloitte's clients.

In addition to my technical consulting duties, this role provided me with the opportunity to support business growth by engaging in pre-sales (planning, scoping, estimating), business volume expansion through add-on sales (client relationship management) and project delivery (resource & capacity planning, delivery governance).

Back into consulting, I originally joined the organisation as an Integration (MuleSoft) consultant. Shortly after, I identified opportunities within the Infrastructure & Cloud practice across a variety of strategy, advisory, cloud engineering and platform management (MSP) engagements – successfully transitioning to the cloud practice, based on my previous architecture, integration, and engineering skills & experience.

The Distributed Computing practice is focused in delivering software solutions based on Java, Java J2EE and used to champion the use of FORTE technologies.

Working as a Senior Software Engineer I was responsible for designing and developing enterprise-computing applications and offering advanced business computing solutions, working primarily with Java, Forte 4GL, Forte Conductor, Forte Web Enterprise, CORBA, BizTalk Server, Vitria BusinessWare, Oracle 8ie and SQL Server.
