I work for equity through education of all students. Throughout my career, I have led not-for-profit organizations, including K-12 public charter schools and have served in higher education. I was a documentary film maker for 20 years. I was also Senior Vice President for Public Affairs and Communication at the University of Notre Dame. My work has led me to forge helpful relationships with like-minded professionals who have the vision to see what is beyond the horizon and are willing to imagine possibilities for the impossible. Everyday, we seek new alliances in the non-profit, public and private sectors to deliver innovative and imaginative solutions for our communities that deserve better--education, services and leadership. Throughout my journey my colleagues and friends will say that I am a trusted leader. I am grateful for their trust in me. I continue to serve as a community advocate for excellence in K-12 education, especially for advancing dual language strategies that can serve Spanish-speaking communities--and celebrate all students who want to learn a second language.
