During my Spring 2022 semester, I performed a project under the supervision of Dr. Ryan Sochol and Dr. Sunandita Sarker to create a 3D printed microfluidic circuitry incorporated within a 3D-printed soft robot, all in a single print run, and with the purpose to leverage novel 3D fluidic circuit elements (like fluidic diodes, closed transistors, and open transistors with tunable pressure-gain functionalities) to operate in response to fluidic analogs of conventional electronic signals.To design our previously mentioned prototype, we used our CAD knowledge to create several drafts in SOLIDWORKS, with the aim of improving its stability and obtaining a resistant and compatible design to 3D print it. Finally, we presented in front of all the lab our results and our progress along the semester, especially for the CAD design of the turtle flippers, the part that required the most skills and the one that would determine the degree of success of the project.
