I worked for the Cyber Crime Disruption team, a part of Global Information Security. I migrated a group of python files to a newer database portal version. This portal was a product from a BoA software vendor. This project consisted of several tasks: adding new libraries (including proprietary BoA libraries), modifying, cleaning and testing the code, pushing the changes to the repository for review, and creating documentation.I also did a comparison of the features of VS Code, a free IDE by Microsoft, and Jupyter Lab, an online development application, to assess the advantages of each tool. My analysis concluded that while VS Code overall was the superior product, they are both good development environments and there are situations that might make a developer prefer one over the other.

Accertify is an online fraud prevention company, owned by American Express. My team had a large inventory of Python code. I converted these files from Python 2 to 3, did new development, maintenance and troubleshooting, trained other developers, managed version control for my team, documented my work, and made presentations to the team. The largest project I participated in was migrating all Python code from a normal Oracle database to a sharded Oracle database. I made and tested all the changes for this effort.

I worked in the operations department, creating software tools to manage our servers and server information. I also helped in everyday operations tasks, such as certifying servers, infrastructure, and networking. I developed a system to receive SNMP traps from our servers and save the relevant information to a database. Then I created web pages to show this information in a graphical representation with several input parameters (server, client, type of trap, time period, etc) to be able to focus only on the information a user would like to see. This allowed a user to display the data in great detail and identify problems and trends. Using Perl, MySQL, PHP, Javascript and Fusion Charts.

I was a developer for Ubix, a major derivatives backoffice system. I was responsible for implementing new developments and maintenance in Ubix. I used C, Python, Windows scripts, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. I also provided functional and technical support. This position required knowledge of the infrastructure and of the futures markets.I was heavily involved in a project with Scotia Bank in Mexico. I worked as a freelance language professional, teaching English in Spain and Argentina, and teaching Spanish in Chicago.
