Neuropeculiar APS was founded in July 2018, at the initiative of three autistic people, with the aim of contributing to the development and dissemination of a new socio-cultural paradigm that normalises the concept of neurodiversity and values the variety of human expression.Biodiversity, in ecology, is considered an irreplaceable resource for the maintenance of life on the planet, a concept that expresses the value of genetic niches.The association is currently run by autistic people.The association has the following purposes:- Dissemination linked to the themes of autism and, more generally, of neurodivergence on the national and international territory;- Promote the right to self-determination and self-representation of autistic and neurodivergent people or those belonging to minority categories;- Promote a paradigm change that shifts the treatment of autism and, more generally, of neurodivergence towards a socio-cultural horizon;- Promote the right to work, education, housing, autonomy for people who find themselves in a situation of social discrimination due to belonging to minority groups or neurominorities;- Promote, train and support advocacy and self-advocacy movements in support of autistic and neurodivergent people and other minority groups;- Promote a culture of inclusion.
