• Ensure that drug stock levels are recorded and appropriately interpreted• Check the quality of medical products at all levels of the supply chain, i.e. from national distributor to the warehouse/main pharmacy store.• Process drug orders for pharmacy units (oncology, in-patient, CCC, out-patient, and maternity pharmacies)• Generating monthly stock reports that include MOH 647 (Tracer Commodities) and Malaria Reports• Inventory control of drug supplies at the main pharmacy store using the in-house supply chain software PSMT• Championing pharmacovigilance activities within the hospital by training hospital staff and regularly reporting incidences to PPB

• Oversight and supervision of pharmaceutical purchases and coordination of purchasing activities for the Pharmacy Enterprise.• Evaluate and negotiate contracts related to pharmaceutical cost, distribution, technology, and automation.• Manage outsourced pharmacy purchasing.• Serve as an expert advisor on supply chain forecasting.• Establish and monitor inventory tracking systems for all products to ensure product availability and supply integrity.

• Influencing hospital procurement of drugs to ensure the supply of high-quality products.• Drug inventory control and management• Member of several groups that encourage standard anti-retroviral therapy (ART) within Nairobi County, e.g. Surge group and Nairobi ART ordering sites.• Conduct hospital CMEs with an aim to update the hospital staff on any advancements in medicine.• Championing pharmacovigilance activities within the hospital by training hospital staff and regularly reporting incidences to PPB.• Having access to medical records, influencing the selection of drugs and dosage regimens, monitoring patient compliance and therapeutic response to drugs, and recognizing and reporting adverse drug reactions.• Serving as a member of policy-making committees, including those concerned with drug selection, the use of antibiotics, and hospital infections (Drug and Therapeutics Committee) and thereby influencing the preparation and composition of an essential-drug list or formulary.• Educating other health professionals about the rational use of drugs.
