About Robert Patrick

Robert has 25 years of experience in urban planning, land development, government relations and policy development in Canada and Australia. Robert has helped his clients successfully manage a wide variety of high profile, contentious and sensitive issues related to the land development industry, particularly those subject to intense public and media scrutiny. As the founder of Tactica Planning and South 28 Town Planning in the Gold Coast since March 2013, Robert has advised clients on a variety of strategic and statutory planning matters throughout Queensland and New South Wales. Robert drafted and negotiated Council and State approval on the Development Scheme for the Southport PDA.Whilst with the Government of Ontario, Robert accelerated major initiatives including a $7 billion Green Energy Agreement with Samsung Inc. to bring 2500 MW of clean, green energy to Ontario and the unprecedented Places to Grow initiative - the growth management plan for Toronto and the Greater Golden Horseshoe area. As Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Infrastructure's strategic asset division he facilitated the creation of Canada's Rouge National Urban Park, and developed policy to streamline the lifecycle of the province's health, corrections and justice physical facilities. While in government his responsibilities also included policy oversight for the Ontario Realty Corporation and Infrastructure Ontario.Robert facilitated land development while with the IBI Group and secured development approvals for major developments in the Greater Toronto Area, preparing development feasibility studies and undertaking demographic analysis for commercial enterprise.For his work in advancing the growth management agenda in Canada, Robert accepted the Province of Ontario's most prestigious honour - the Amethyst Award - and has accepted awards from the American Planning Institute, the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planning Institute.
