I was sitting in a Reproductive Biology class asking my friend why I took the course, I was going to be a Virologist! I wanted to study viruses and do Molecular Biology. The next week I received a small State Work Study grant and leveraged that into a research job. In a lab doing Reproductive Biology. I fell in love with oocytes and embryos and spent many years as a Developmental Biologist. Years later I was running a core facility and telling my wife I was getting bored and looking for something else. A few weeks later I was invited to lunch by the local Olympus team, to be pitched a new system I was sure. But, instead I was offered a job selling Olympus microscopes. I jumped in and have been happy with the choice ever since. I'm a scientist, a microscopist, a sales specialist, and a sales manager. The technologies I have used include: Widefield Deconvolution, Confocal, Multiphoton, Super Resolution, High Content Imaging, High Content Analysis, Live Cell Imaging, 2D and 3D Image Analysis, ELISA, and many other plate reader modalities.
