I work on scaling Apache Spark to provide compute at LinkedIn.I previously worked on the jobs team to make it easier for hirers to discover and post jobs on LinkedIn. I focused on the data and machine learning layers of the stack.

I worked on the Talent Insights (LTI) data infrastructure team. We're responsible for offline data processing and online data access for the product. Our team makes it possible for LTI to support billions of search combinations over terabytes of data in real-time.

SnapLogic provides a SaaS integration platform that allows customers to visually build data pipelines from streaming components with specific functionality (i.e. reading from a database, joining data, writing to a distributed file system). I worked on the team responsible for writing the data pipeline components (Snaps).

I worked on the next generation platform for streaming data into the PI System. The platform includes a SDK, all data flow components and the central administration application.

My primary responsibility was to determine the root cause of production issues. This often required me to analyze heap and thread dumps and debug the source code.I split my time between development working on the PI Connector platform team and support role during this period.

The goal of this project was to develop curriculum to increase high school student interest in STEM career paths. We develop several modules that consisted of mini-design challenges coupled with computer based learning activities and a multi-week final design challenge (i.e. build a kidney dialysis machine). During my time on the project I led a team of four undergraduate students and implemented the curriculum with 15 high school teachers and 1000 students. I was responsible for analyzing the student learning data, administering existing curriculum modules and developing future curriculum.

Designed a transport system to move a viscous petroleum derivative between refineries. Used Matlab to model six different solutions and then did a statistical analysis using Minitab to determine which design attributes made a significant difference. Used this information to optimize operating costs while balancing the initial capital costs of the designs.

Research focused on designing biomaterials for tissue engineering applications, such as scaffolds to support neural regeneration. My focus was on material synthesis and characterization.

Developed separation techniques to isolate molecules of interest. Focused on high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and solid phase extraction methods. Learned how to program a new, automated HPLC system and wrote equipment protocols to enable others to be able to use equipment.
