Led Global Legal Team consisting of 6 direct reports and overall organization of 20 employees with a total internal budget of approximately $2.3M and outside spend of approximately $3.5M. Achieved year-over-year internal and external budget reductions (excluding extraordinary events) for 5 years despite increases in business line demand for legal counseling, contracting support and increases in the volume of litigation and commercial disputes.• Oversaw provision of all advice and counseling regarding subsidiary governance, employment, customs, business associations, compliance and transactions, ensuring support of organization's global objectives. • Utilized outside counsel and collaborated with other shared functions in developing and implementing corporate level policies and procedures, including Global Document Retention Schedule and Policy, 3rd-Party Due Diligence Program, New Country Entry Process, and program for GDPR compliance.• Represented interests of the organization in administrative, judicial and other disputed matters, prosecuting and defending organization’s interests in intellectual property matters, and legal counseling related to all the foregoing.• Implemented and maintained processes and systems utilized by Legal for effective management of matters arising out of or applicable to company’s global operations.• Prepared and managed external and internal legal budgets, ensuring cost effective legal support of business line and corporate needs. • Managed global contracting program, ensuring alignment of risks with company policies and organizational goals, standardization of best practices in commercial contracting, and continuous improvement of related processes.• Provided primary Regional Legal Counsel level support for Company’s Western Hemisphere businesses.
