A project may have Responder OMS or ArcFM Designer technology underpinnings. Data is key to all implementations and the project may involve data modeling, change management, conversion or integration to external systems. This role has required staying up to date on business management software technologies, Microsoft Visual Studio, Windows OS issues, Citrix platform changes, Oracle PL/SQL performance changes and the GIS data evolution for Esri’s v10.0 geodatabase changes. In the hardware world the implementation of shared cache amongest the latest multi core processors, Ipv6 security/broacasting and Disk storage technology changes mean that having the latest system architecture knowledge is extremely important for an implementation of GIS to be successful. Without this knowledge, correct analysis and prediction of system planning would be impossible. This was a position focused on helping business partners and developers using ESRI products complete their own project and product development. My position focused on the enterprise and leveraged my existing knowledge to help these developers become successful. As a reasonable person may infer, there were many situations that required tact and careful delivery of information. It was vital that the individual or corporation being assisted receive the information they needed in a timely fashion however it was just as important that they also felt they were speaking with a knowledgeable person and that progress was being made on the problem. There was no multi-tiered support. This was a one stop shop position.Day to Day activities:- Manage customer expectations as an ESRI representative- Provide clear and concise communication to the customer in hgihly technical situations where they may not be the end party receiving the instructions (e.g. Network configuration settings for their IT department)- Debugging enterprise system configuration issues. - Debug customer code samples. Part of the service I provided in this capacity was to obtain the broken code sample, review it and then provide samples for the parts of their modules that were not working. Programming languages I supported in this way : ColdFusion, ArcXML, Java Script / HTML - Log work done and trends of customer issues.- Manage the lab for other analysts, creating scripts to: dump and load data, update software and when needed completely rebuild the software stack.
