In this role, Robert transitioned a divested business unit from Humana to service the federal clients of the former subsidiary DefenseWeb Technologies. He developed and staffed in a start-up environment, all senior managers, development staff, program management, and product management staff. His staff migrated active systems including infrastructure and sustainment staff for the US Army, USAF, USN, USMC, and Military Community and Family Policy. Robert recruited over 35 new staff members in order to achieve continuity of operations and high customer satisfaction.

Robert had full responsibility of the DefenseWeb business unit under the ownership Humana and managed the successful divestiture of this unit to Three Wire Systems, LLC. During the years leading up to the divestment and transition, Robert led a diverse team of Program Managers, Project Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Product Support, Sales Engineers and Contract Managers. Throughout this tumultuous phase, he managed a transition to Agile delivery models, delivering results which included customer satisfaction improvements, increased employee engagement and increased orders booked by 400%.

Robert was responsible for post-sales systems lifecycle management (end of life, new features, upgrades, etc.) teams including 23 System Managers. His team managed the 3G and 4G networks for 15 commercial operators in 7 countries serving 20+ million subscribers with 125+ product lines. Prior to this role at Ericsson, Robert held the roles of Solution Manager for OSS, Project Manager and Sr. Systems Engineer.

As the lead Unix System Administrator, Robert was responsible for several infrastructure projects, user support and training junior system engineers.

Robert served two tours as an active duty enlisted sailor, first as an Aircraft Mechanic (AME2) aboard the USS Kitty Hawk assigned to VAW 114, then as a Network & Systems Engineer (DP2/IT2) with Military Sealift Command in Oakland and San Diego, and finally as a civilian consultant. Robert performed system maintenance first for E2C Hawkeye environmental systems, then for Top Secret Command and Control IT networks and systems (C4I). Robert was deployed to several campaigns including Operations Desert Storm (Iraq), Southern Watch (Iraq), Restore Hope (Somalia), and Counter Drug Operations in Panama. Decorations earned included: Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (2), Navy and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (2), Kuwait Liberation Medal, Sea Service Deployment (2), Letters of Commendation, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Southeast Asia Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation and National Defense Service Medal.
