Robert Reams, Founder and Chief ArchitectRobert Reams is a 45-year veteran of the audio, video and film industry. He has developed over 50 products for various world-class companies and the user list of his developments reads like a Who's Who of the music, movie and television industries. Robert is a published author and lecturer in the fields of transducers, human perception, neural process, spectrum analysis and signal processing. His work has included ultrasound interferometry research within the medical industry (Medco), human emotion response to audio stimulus and computer controlled re-synthesis of modeled sounds for General Electric, American Airlines Training Corporation, Flight Safety and Motion Servo (ILM). His sound models were the first in the world to be rated "Phase II", the highest level of realism in that era. Robert was responsible for the invention and deployment for audio codec pre-conditioning (XM Satellite and HDRadio) and delivery of several highly efficient surround formats (Neural Audio). He exited Neural Audio with the status of Senior Fellow Emeritus after the sale of his intellectual property (which are now ATSC standards) to DTS. He now hangs his metaphorical hat at psy(x) research, where he plies his background in biophysics, data mining and psychoacoustics to developing a compatible, new, interoperable encoding/compression ecosystem for immersive (3D) audio.Robert has a BS/EE degree from University of Oklahoma. He is on the advisory board of ITTI and HTEI Institute and has lectured for The Audio Engineering Society since 1977. Mr. Reams is currently an active member of AES, IEEE, ASA, SAE and SMPTE.
