About Hop Ridgell

My favorite quote is by Mark Twain who said "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."I have always had a wanderlust, a deep down sense of adventure — wherever I might find it. I was the child who decided that he was going to learn how to do something by trying it and then figuring it out on my own. Typically, it involved being outside. Whether learning to climb rocks, paddle whitewater, or snow skiing, nature has been my ultimate playground and classroom. If something looked adventurous and challenging , I wanted to learn how to do it. I have not stopped seeking out challenges since. I am a big believer in outdoor adventure education and recreation. I have always had a sincere drive to share my love for the outdoors and wild places by leading, teaching, and guiding programs involving whitewater kayaking, rafting, scuba diving, backpacking, rock climbing, canoeing, snow skiing, and many other outdoor endeavors. I believe that it is the duty of environmentalists and adventure educators to introduce people to the joys of the wild outdoors, to connect more deeply to themselves, their peers, and most important, to the natural world. From these experiences I have learned that: * I am an excellent communicator and negotiator.* I am a goal oriented team player.* I am a creative thinker. * I excel in situations requiring diplomacy.* I embrace challenge.* I am hard working.* I have big ideas and execute them.* I run toward fires!Specialities:• Environmental Regulations• Environmental Permitting• People Management• Project Management• Customer Service and Sales• Teaching• Social Media• Outdoor Adventure including: whitewater kayaking and rafting, scuba, rock and ice climbing, road and mountain biking• Event Planning• Flexibility • Photography
