Including the Implementation of all relevant HSE procedures, Risk Assessments, accident and incident reporting and HSE training, along with the coaching and mentoring of 8 direct reports.

B&Q Uk & Ireland

Accountable for one of the company’s largest accounts, with an annual expenditure of £8 million. Included the management of labour costs within budget, continually reviewing labour structures and ratios along with communicating strategy to the account team and ensuring that improvements are implemented to maximise performance and customer satisfaction across all sectors of the account. To drive and implement strategies to develop, train, maintain and motivate my workforce to deliver business requirements across a portfolio of 200 retail, corporate and distribution locations. To lead the implementation of change programmes with the aim of delivering operational benefits. The role also included the implementation of all relevant HSE procedures, including, Risk Assessments, accident / incident reporting and HSE training.

Essex / East London

Area Manager for Essex and North/East London, responsible for over 40 commercial sites consisting of corporate office locations, retail centres and distribution hubs; key customers include BP (British Petroleum) Capita Symonds, Savills, John Lewis and numerous other reputable clients with high expectations. Regular activities of the role include developing cost effective security strategies including technology based security systems in line with allocated budgets and with reductions where possible, introducing accelerated change and incentivising over 170 staff in line with client values and goals. This alignment of values and goals has been achieved by coaching and mentoring 11 direct reports through a continuous process of improvement.

The Walt Disney Company/ Others

The Security Contract Manager for The Walt Disney Company, involved project level turn-around management of the VSG security guarding aspect of a prestigious contract across 5 UK sites, including the head office and the EMEA Control Centre located at Hammersmith. Duties also included supporting the TWDC security director in providing physical, technical and procedural security-related services across the EMEA region to some 53 permanent locations within 27 countries, along with a number of mobile productions, such as film locations and promotional events and Studios.

Afghanistan

The role involved strategic planning and operational execution of several projects, ranging from short term consultancy assignments to the management of larger country wide projects. Also included was the development of business continuity and security plans for a number of large USAID funded projects, along with these plans implementation and subsequent evaluation. Working in such a dynamic fast moving environment a significant level of crisis management, taking into account manmade and natural threats was an essential part of this role, this also involved supporting global objectives to standardise response plans across the region.

Kabul - Afghanistan

The responsibilities of the Operations Manager position included standing as the Country Director as required with full accountability for financial accounts, man management/logistics for over 200 international and national staff on numerous State Department, foreign government sponsored projects and aid organizations across Afghanistan. A deep understanding of the complexities and limitations of the Afghan political system was required. The role also included the development of business continuity plans, the provision of security assessments and a significant amount of project management. Finally this role required an ability to instruct at a high level the internationally recognized Hostile Environment Awareness Training course, provided to such organizations as the BBC - UK, BBC World Service and Microsoft Corp.

In overall command of all management, and movement of convoys to and from the Embassy, along with management of manpower numbering over 100 personnel, vehicles and equipment including weapons systems. The position was responsible for the writing and implementation of security policy/procedures governing the actions of the Embassy’s response teams. The ERT Supervisor’s position was also responsible for the direction of all response personnel in the event of any security incident against the US Embassy.
