Primary focus is on architecting and building data driven applications using PL/SQL to load, manipulate, and present data.

I manage the technical aspects of configuration and delivery of proprietary software to our clients. I am responsible for managing the workload of several Implementation Analysts, most of them residing offshore. Responsibilities and tasks are managed using JIRA. In this role, I am also a mentor for our Implementation Analysts.I tackle some of the more complex coding challenges needed during the configuration of the software. I am responsible for delivery of several documents to our clients: interface layouts, batch schedules, context diagrams and installation/upgrade instructions.I handle the technical communications with the client during the configuration and delivery process. I work with the client to get the data feeds correct for their interfaces and learn about their business to best configure our software to fit their needs.

I configure and customize proprietary software for implementation based on individual client needs. Configurations include modifying XML files, PL/SQL code, and Unix shell scripts. This position requires extensive experience with SQL, PL/SQL and Unix/Linux.

I worked on the Data Warehouse team developing and maintaining ETL that loaded our Data Warehouse and our Operational Data Store(ODS). I developed and maintained ETL using Oracle Data Integrator. I also maintained older ETL which was a collection of Perl, Korn Shell, and SQL scripts on the Linux server. I was the key developer for the GL interface from our Operational Data Store (ODS) to Lawson. One of our more complex ODI interfaces, it was comprised of multiple stages that needed to work in tandem to ensure all GL data was sent to Lawson with the correct posting date and that none was missed or sent twice.I developed and enhanced BI reports using both Microsoft SSRS Reports and the Pentaho BA Suite. I also maintained older BI reports written in Actuate. Oft times I assisted with gathering requirements for these BI projects/enhancements. I wrote ad hoc queries and provided Excel spreadsheets of pertinent data for other areas of the business. I was our Pentaho BA Administrator and SME. I was instrumental in configuration and set up of the tool from the standpoint of usability. I built Mondrian Schemas (cubes) using Pentaho's Schema Workbench, which I and my teammates then used as data sources to build dashboards in the Pentaho BA Suite. I also authored several pixel-perfect reports using Pentaho's Report Designer.

I worked with the Systems Migration Team to implement Oracle E-Business Suite applications with the goal of replacing our legacy systems. To this end, I wrote many interfaces using PL/SQL, SQL Loader, and Unix Scripts. I used several of Oracle's Interfaces and APIs to import and maintain data. I wrote many custom reports and modified several Oracle vanilla reports using Oracle’s Reports Builder 6/6i tool. I built custom forms and modified existing forms in the Oracle E-Business Suite using Oracle’s Forms Builder 6/6i tool. For many of our projects, I met with clients, worked with functional team members, and wrote both functional and technical design documents. I worked on the implementation of the Customer Support and Knowledge Management modules. I did the research, testing and setups required for the implementation of the Knowledge Management module. I coded and implemented the one-time load of “solutions” from a legacy source into the Knowledge Base.I wore many hats for our implementation of iPayment. I was the lead developer on this project; I coordinated the development work needed between myself and 2 other programmers. I wrote the custom Java servlet required for the communication between iPayment and Skipjack, our Back-End Payment System. I wrote the code necessary to load in Credit Card accounts from our legacy system into Oracle. On the functional side, I set up the iPayment module and helped with setups and testing in Receivables and Order Management. I was the lead developer for our Retail Accounting system in Oracle for our PF and SF line of work-- a customized set of programs and reports written to track our production costs, commissions and refunds for our retail sales reps.During the last few years at Herff Jones I learned the basics of being an Oracle E-Business Suite DBA. I would cover for our DBA at times when he was out of the office.
