I provide legal and consulting services in all areas of intellectual property including counseling, litigation, and Patent Office proceedings. I currently partner with former colleagues on projects where additional expertise and bandwidth is needed, both to serve my clients, and to assist others.My expertise over the past 17 years, along with the flexibility of a small shop, allows me to provide top level legal advice at a highly competitive price. My work includes all aspects of patent disputes from investigations and due diligence, through trial and appeal. I regularly assist clients in responding to subpoenas issued by district courts and the ITC. I also focus on quasi-judicial proceedings before the Patent Office, in particular Inter Partes Reviews ("IPRs"). I work with pharmaceutical companies, chemical companies, and consumer product companies to provide strategic advice and assist in implementing strategies that yield cost effective solutions. I also consider clients that are seeking to monetize a patent or portfolio of patents. I have extensive experience with the strategies of such efforts from both sides. Lastly, I provide advisory guidance to smaller companies looking for strategic advice at the outset of business ventures. The intellectual property piece in these early business efforts raise complicated issues and difficult decisions that can have an impact on the sucess of the business going forward. I provide pragmatic advice in this area to many clients in order to help them make best use of their scarce resources.

Over the past 15+ years, I have provided legal assistance to clients in all aspects of intellectual property. My focus, first and foremost, has been on patent litigation, with a particular emphasis on pharmaceuticals. I have extensive expertise in litigation and counseling in other chemical fields, as well as in other technologies. I have tried more than 10 patent cases in my career, both bench and jury trials. I have extensive experience on appeals at the Federal Circuit as well. My work in the pharmaceutical world also requires an understanding of the intersection with FDA. My work in other chemical industries requires an understanding of the intersection with regulatory requirements such as FIFRA. These intersections can be extremely important and often dictate IP strategies. My expertise has allowed me to also effectively counsel clients on patent issues in non-litigation contexts, including prosecution, due diligence, and opinion work, as well.
