I've been asked to formalize the board as the firm goes through an ownership transition and to serve as an independent director.

I was a member of this community of CEOs for 11 years, then at the end of 2006 became involved in the leadership of the Alliance. I founded the Top Team program (for executives that report to the CEO) and lead one of those groups today (companies ranging from $30 million to $800 million revenues; half private, half public) as well as help bring members from different private groups in the Alliance together to learn from each other on topics of common interest. Today the Alliance is a Northern California.community of nearly 400 CEOs and senior executives of midsized firms.

From 1984 to 2006, Robert was CEO of Bentley. Robert was a co-founder of the company, which was based in Walnut Creek, CA. He and his partners became aware of a gap in the marketplace for affordable prints to serve the growing volume framing industry. It was a bootstrapped effort that wasn’t easy, but key successes breathed new life and cash flow into the business. He led the acquisitions of four competitors between 1999 and 2004, and left Bentley two years later when it was a $10 million firm with 64 employees. At the time, Bentley had contracts with more than 300 artists, whose works it reproduced, printed and sold to frame and print shops, craft stores, gift stores, galleries and major retailers such as Nordstrom, JC Penney, and Ethan Allen. The firm was merged in 2011 to form Bentley Global Art Group.
