Odessa/Midland, Texas Area

First and only geophysicist for largest private company in the Permian Basin. Accomplished complete build-up of geophysical program. Started with nothing and now have over 3000 sq mi of interpreted 3D in Midland Basin core area. Taught employees and management the value of 3D seismic through lunch and learns and one-on-one discussions. Constructed highly accurate depth-converted 3D volumes with 100’s of well control points including many horizontal wells. Guided geo-steerers with plans from seismic depth volume and checked accuracy post drill. Used seismic to plan water disposal wells in the Ellenburger Fm.

Exploration and development for horizontal shale oil production in the Delaware Basin portion of the Permian Basin.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Part of key team responsible for exploration and development of horizontal shale oil production in the Wolfcamp and Cline Shales in the Midland Basin portion of the Permian Basin. We use petrophysics, geomechanics, 3D seismic, and multi-variate analysis to build an earth model for finding sweet-spots and high ROR areas for development. Also the developer of Fusselman and deeper vertical targets.

Helped initiate and develop a new core area for Devon Energy in the Eastern Shelf of the Permian Basin. We started with a small 5 person and grew it into a significant portion of Devon's current operations. We started with almost no land or geophysics and ultimately acquired 650,000 acres, over 3000 miles of 2-D seismic, over 1100 square miles of leased 3D seismic and new shooting of over 500 miles of 3D seismic.Co-developed Baxter Shale Play in the Green River Basin. Developed exploration program on the Wind River Indian Reservation.Designed, acquired, and interpreted seismic, then drilled prospects in the Bossier Sand/Haynesville Shale Play. Successfully added multiple field extensions in the Vernon/Ansley Field area.

Houston, Texas Area

 Acquired and interpreted almost 200 sq. miles of 3D, requiring very detailed incorporation of well control and seismic stratigraphy. Added significant reserves in the Townsend Field area. Drilled numerous productive Strawn Lime and Atoka-Morrow Sand wells in the Northern Delaware Basin.

Led multi-disciplinary team in analysis and evaluation of East Texas as a new core area. Championed $160 million acquisition of American Cometra Inc. through approval by Board of Directors, including many presentations to security analysts and media.
