Working as an early-career scientist in the lab of Kristine Oleinika (PhD). Our primary focus is both fundamental B cell biology (early mechanisms of loss of B cell tolerance) as well as translational B cell immunology. We currently employ three disease models - IgA nephropathy (IgAN), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and multiple myeloma (MM).

Organized theoretical and practical scientific sessions for the members of the Student Scientific Interest Group for Medical Genetics at RSU to further develop diagnostic as well as therapeutic knowledge of fellow medical students. This included a deeper dive into pure Mendelian disorders as well as polygenic diseases, to better understand pathogenetic mechanisms which can lead to discoveries of new therapeutic targets.

Designing a synthetic reporter cell system to characterize differential levels of hypoxia in the tumor microenvironment. Responsible for background research and ideation, protocol and workflow generation, as well as experimental work, data analysis, and coordination.

Worked in the scientific group of Dr. Michael Schmück-Henneresse under the direct guidance of Post-doc scientist Dr. Martí Farrera Sal at the BIH Center for Regenerative Therapies (BCRT). The main research focus being experimental immunotherapies, more precisely the generation of novel CAR-T cell products in the fight against solid cancers via non-viral genome editing.

Provided primary care for both surgical and internal medicine patients. Main tasks included placement of intravenous lines, preparation, and administration of intravenous medications, surgical and infectious wound dressing and debridement, and carrying out diagnostic testing (e.g. vital measurements, electrocardiograms).

Worked in the Cancer Cell Biology and Melanoma Research group led by Dr. habil. med. Jekaterina Ērenpreisa and Dr. biol. Dace Pjanova.Focusing on a fundamental problem of cancer cell biology - treatment-associated resistance and the development thereof. Dissecting the relationship between induced reversible polyploidy, embryonality, and accelerated cell senescence, in combination with genetic and epigenetic changes in tumor cells.

Worked on novel NGS data sequencing pipelines by adapting a step-by-step R&D approach.

Carrying out SARS‑CoV‑2 sample collection from potential virus carriers by performing nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs, as well as processing patient data in Medap-LIS and SmartMedical softwares.

Providing SARS‑CoV‑2 saliva and nasopharyngeal swab sample testing as part of the nationwide COVID-19 screening program.

Primary inpatient care in the general surgery ward, to limit the rate of patient pre- and post-surgical infections and ensure the most effective path to recovery.

Developed an HPLC method to detect unbound ropivacaine serum concentration.Results presented at "Knowledge for Use in Practice 2021" at Rīga Stradiņš University.
