Wholly owned UK subsidiary of Alaska A/S; leading Scandinavian car care, household goods and consumer electronics manufacturer/importer.Responsible for launching the UK subsidiary as the spearhead for international group expansion. Establishing contact, making presentations and winning listings from major retailers and distributors in UK and other European markets. Hands-on sales account and product management and channel/pricing strategy.Prioritising and implementing the introduction of Alaska’s extensive product portfolio spanning different product categories such as Consumer Electronics, Car Care, DIY, Fitness Equipment and Heating.Re-aligning Danish marketing/packaging material to maximise the opportunity in the UK market using a small marketing budget. Appointing and managing PR agency to successfully launch the Alaska brand and product ranges. Full financial accountability of cash flow, P & L and cost management. Monitoring and controlling the subsidiary’s third party warehousing and logistics activities.

Alba plc is a leading supplier of branded Consumer Electronics goods to major retailers/distributors in UK and other European markets. The Alba plc group acquired Roadstar UK Ltd in early 1997 and I was recruited to re-establish the brand in major UK retailers and distribution channels.During my 10 years with the group, I was responsible for the sales, channel marketing and product development strategy firstly of Roadstar and then the role widened to include similar responsibilities for Alba and Cable & Wireless Telecoms and Computer Peripheral products. Responsible for a turnover budget of £35m in UK and various international markets.

Roadstar UK Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Swiss owned Roadstar Management SA. The UK operation was based in Twyford, Berkshire. The parent company had acquired Sentra Consumer Products (also Swiss owned) at the end of 1989.During the later part of my role with Roadstar, I reported directly to the Swiss Management Board, with responsibilities for developing and implementing sales, profit and operational plans, with full P&L accountability for day-to-day management of the UK sales operation, working closely with the Finance and Operation Directors.
