A board member position, I lead the BD & Marketing activity across the whole firm. This involves working with the Senior Management, Partners and sector teams in the analysis of market opportunities, client acquisition and overall marketing support.

The firm acts for some of the leading multi-national organisations worldwide and has significant clients on every continent. I lead the marketing and business development department in the firm and work with Partners and Practice Group leads to develop and implement our international strategy. Initially starting in the Government Division at Bevan Brittan I progressed to Head of Business Development for the whole of the organisation. Bevan Brittan is market leader in the delivery of legal services to the public services market and my role was the development and implementation of BD and marketing strategy for the organisation with a particular focus on new client and market development. I specialised in analysing government policy to identify the likely legal implications for public and private sector clients and a considerable amount of my time was spent focusing on the legal implications of the economic downturn and the Government's Local Government and Health Bill's. I also helped develop BD strategy both public and private sectors for PPP / PFI projects in My key achievements included; • Working as part of the senior management team to develop an award winning and profitable re brand and sector focus.• Developing and restructuring the BD processes and structure firm-wide including the delivery of detailed and targeted business plans for all sector groups.• Redesigning and implementing a successful bid process that led to a significant improvement in results as well as a streamlined process that improved the efficiency and KM effectiveness of bids and tenders.• Working with sector teams to achieve major improvements in Legal Directory rankings including numerous tier one rankings. • Leading on major Thought Leadership and profile raising initiatives that included successful award entries and (for the first time in the firm’s history) supporting the inclusion of Partners in the Lawyer Hot 100 for three years running.

Director of Business Development for the holding company of a number of leading organisations in the Training and Development industry. Whilst at the organisation I oversaw the succesful launch and establishment of a new Management Development company within the group and the succesful award of the largest (at the time) outsourced contract for work based training by the Department for Education and Skills.

Promoted to being the youngest Account Manager at this leading regional "through the line" agency, advising clients on below the line campaigns and corporate communication strategy. Clients included Castrol, BMW and Unilever.
