The goal of this project was to get 100,000 providers across the country using electronic records, proving meaningful use, and ultimately qualifying for stimulus dollars. Tennessee’s goal was 1343 providers. Tennessee's REC helps providers implement health information technology (HIT) at their facilities. We worked with providers across the state to help ensure they meet government Meaningful Use (MU) requirements for HIT implementation and meet MU objectives and measures. It is/was our job to understand the process and the system it takes to ensure providers have accomplished MU of an electronic medical record EMR. My job was to help setup and establish the REC and manage the Middle TN Region and its staff. I helped create the toolkit for staff members to ensure consistent service delivery across the entire state to all of our providers. I helped create service deliverable's for providers and hospitals to ease their acquisition of and transition into EMR systems. This enabled our REC to fulfill the requirements of this contract with ONC. I represented the organization at numerous public speaking events on Meaningful Use and HIPAA/HITECH regulatory compliance. -
