I have worked with Blacksands (a software company providing cybersecurity software products) since it begin as a startup 7 years ago. Six years ago I was given a seat on its advisor board. Three years ago I became a full board member. We have grown the business and Blacksands is now in a significant cybersecurity software company with a strategic partnership with Accenture. I have contributed significantly to the successful operation of the board.

I worked as an Interim CIO & member of the senior leadership team replacing the previous IT leader. During the time spent I made significant improvements and won the hearts and minds of the leadership team and IT staff. This was a serious assignment addressing ongoing deployment of an ERP, CRM and MS 365, a flood causing a full disaster recovery emergency and its recovery and many other things.

In this position I provided leadership for technology strategy, governance and risk and was a member of the executive board for the avionics group. The GE business I was responsible for encompassed international operations in the US, UK and China. It included business units from GE Capital, Energy and Aviation. I was responsible for using technology to drive business results and growth and for fostering a culture of security and compliance. In spite of systemic GE corporate issues, our business units were able to deliver top and bottom growth each year I was involved.
