About Robert Stoll

I am President & CEO of Stoll Consulting and Expert Testimony and serve clients involved in litigation as an expert in the patent process. I previously was a partner at Faegre Drinker for over 12 years. I retired from the USPTO as Commissioner for Patents at the end of 2011 after a 34-year government career. I was instrumental in the passage of landmark patent legislation, the America Invents Act.. Having risen from the rank of examiner to lead the 8,000-employee organization, I have spent my career improving the intellectual property system. I focused on educating the public, applicants, corporations and foreign governments on the criticality of intellectual property to economic growth and job creation and stressed the importance of a comprehensive understanding of the complex intellectual property laws to best use the system to protect an invention.I can be reached at rstoll@stollpatents.com or 202-657-8390
