Working with the IT team and Developers to analyse and automate various parts of the company's workflow with a view to creating custom solutions. For example, automatic creation of artworks, QA and error checking, integrating new systems with our existing bespoke solutions.In 2012 my custom solutions saved the company 1436 working days, assuming a typical working day of 8.5 hours.Main tools used;AppleScriptXcodeRealBasicShell Scripting (bash)MySQL/PHPI also help demonstrate and present new systems to end users - both employees and external clients. Sometimes I help out as a trainer.

Mostly involved analysing work done manually by studio artworkers and automating parts of their work where possible. Most work was done in AppleScript/Xcode with smaller amounts of shell scripting (bash) and JavaScript. I was solely responsible for the development of Trident's Smart semi-automatic artwork production system.I was also involved in rolling out new systems into production, supporting users and managers in using my systems. I also demonstrated and presented my systems to existing and prospective clients.

I worked as part of a small team at AlphaGraphics where I was the only Designer/Mac Operator. My main role was designing artwork for a variety of clients including Kingston Communications, BP and the NHS. It was also my responsibility to preflight & troubleshoot clients’ artwork, provide technical support and advice to clients and report to the Directors on new technology relevant to the business.Some jobs were outsourced for printing and organising this fell within my area of work along with liaising with outside designers and contractors. I also sourced stock photography for clients.In addition to the above I also created and maintained the company’s website, automated a number of routine tasks using AppleScript and developed the digital artwork archiving system which I believe is currently in place.
