• Promoted to manage P&L and provide leadership for Optek Technology division (optoelectronic, infrared, visible LED sensor assemblies and subsystems, discrete power, magnetic sensors), including core company-owned production facility in Juarez, Mexico, employing more than 550 direct and indirect employees. • Improved sales and profitability by focusing on core optoelectronic design strengths, key OEM clients, and new sales channels in Asia; teamed with TTE executives to implement a global sales team that lifted revenue and cut cost 20%. • Led development of the company’s first CMOS photosensor, enabling the introduction of multifunction optical smart sensors for select markets; drove a 27% year over year sales increase as a result. • Promoted to additional overall leadership for the BI Technology division in 2011, overseeing thin film nickel chromium, and tantalum nitride resistors, potentiometric rotary and linear sensors, magnetic position sensors, trimmers and high reliability potentiometric assemblies for the defense and medical markets. • Managed a core production site in Mexico that employed 550+ employees and a production facility in California with 100 additional staff; reduced fixed costs by transitioning the business to core resistor divisions and relocating thick film resistor business from California to the site in Mexico; also, improved the use of available production space. • Provided co-oversight of the construction of a new factory dedicated to resistor production in Mexico.• Turned a $7.3M product liability claim from a major Tier 1 automotive client into a $20M business win with 55% profit margin; drove team to deliver gross margins at 40%+ and operating profit levels between 16% and 26%.
