As a Professor of Mathematics and Senior Faculty Fellow for Learning Futures at Grand Valley State University, I have over 25 years of experience in teaching, scholarship, service, and administration in higher education. My career is driven by my passion for helping students become lifelong learners and bringing educational innovations to life both in and out of the classroom. I am the author of _Flipped Learning: A Guide for Higher Education Faculty_ and the co-author of _Grading For Growth_, books that explore the theory and practice of alternative pedagogies and assessment methods. I also conduct research on undergraduate mathematics education, active learning, and the integration of technology in mathematics instruction. I am a frequent keynote speaker and workshop facilitator on these subjects. In addition, I have collaborated with Steelcase and the GVSU President's Office on projects related to active learning spaces and teaching and learning innovation.
