The purpose of the project was to enable the Midland plant to manufacture a product produced in Europe. Since most of the sales were in the U.S. market, it was imperative to move production to the United States to reduce transportation costs, working capital, and to shorten the supply chain. The project to upgrade the antifoam process was time driven and required my experience in heat exchanger design, pipe sizing, and vessel design for completion on time and on budget.

This included bringing new and novel technologies to the manufacturing of silicone tubing.

The complexity of the hazardous waste required me to understand the dynamics of solids suspended in a liquid. With this understanding I was able to specify the tank, piping, pump design to transport and store the hazardous waste safely. I was the project leader for several small capital projects to improve processes in Dow Corning's Midland plant.
