SMB Systems is a startup company I have started to provide services to Small and Medium-sized Businesses.Initially I will be offering email/collaborative and web hosting solutions but everything is on the table.

I was initially brought in as an in-house Novell Consultant. However as time went on I have been a key person in many IT related matters, including:* SAN (NetApp)* Virtualization (both VMWare and XEN)* Switches* Email* Linux

In addition to my duties as a Director, I worked as a General IT Consultant with specializations in Novell, GroupWise, Linux and Microsoft.

As Network Supervisor, I was responsible for the team of System Administrators and the Network Engineers. A team responsible for maintaining a four hundred node Wide Area Network. As theSenior Systems Administrator, I was responsible for over 250 servers in more than 200 Local Area Networks. A combination of Novell, Microsoft and Linux servers running a wide variety ofapplications. I have proved my high level of skill and elf-motivation, an ability for self-study and learning on the job by being promoted before I was even off probationary employment. I haveexcellent judgment, troubleshooting and decision-making skills.

Assisted with civil engineering projects around the Yokosuka Naval Base Complex. I was placed directly in command of the Self-Help Division, which was responsible for the construction of numerous community facilities and recreation areas. During my watch, our team was awarded "The Best Self-Help in the Entire Navy (Large Base without EDO support)."

Was responsible for the ship's sonar, torpedoes and delivery systems. Oversaw the second largest division on the ship with 30 men and 28 spaces and equipment worth $1,000,000’s. During mytenure as ASWO, O'BRIEN won every Anti-Submarine Warfare Award for the entire fleet. I earned the respect of my men and learned the true meaning of leadership – “To get the job done, not at the expense of you men, but together with your men.”
