I offer two out-of-the-box day-long programs for colleges and state financial aid associations. The first, FM Verification and Conflicting Information, covers the tax related issues that financial aid officers need to understand to properly meet the federal requirements related to verification, identification of and resolution of conflicting information, and income and tax related professional judgment. The second program, Business, Real Estate, and Trust Tax Returns, is designed to give aid officers insight into how a deeper dive into the personal and business tax returns can be used to predict that available income a business owner might have when they have a child enrolled in college. I also offer shorter programs on assets in the federal need analysis, the 1098-T, and how to help students maximize their access to the education credits, and how financial planners are helping families hide resources from financial aid officers.
