Responsible for the daily supervision of athletic facilities and operations including: facility scheduling, facility maintenance and preparation, and event management. Assist in planning, management, and execution of all athletic events, campus events, and external events. Hire, train, and supervise all event management staff. Serve as project manager on various capital, facility maintenance, renovation, or construction projects. Serve as liaison to all campus operating units - Public Safety, Facility Management, Custodial, outside contractors, and campus departments. Responsible for game management of NCAA Division I-AA football, Division I-A men’s and women’s basketball, and all other Olympic sports. Coordinate athletic facilities scheduling with sport coaches in accordance with Department scheduling policies. Maintain Athletic Operations publications, such as the visiting team guide, football parking guide, Olympic sport operations manuals, and Department scheduling policy.

Promoted to Director of Athletic Operations and Facilities in September 2005. Job responsibilites as Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations were identical to those of current position listed above. In addition, was responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Intramural and Recreation Department from October 2003 to July 2004.

Responsible for pre-sale underwriting functions and sales assistance aimed at driving profitable growth for office’s top Sales Representative. Underwrote Group Life, Long-Term Disability, Short-Term Disability, and Dental products, while demonstrating sound underwriting judgment using MetLife’s underwriting guidelines, principles, policies, and procedures. Specifically, reviewed case specifications and prior plan designs; screened for rate and experience information, and completed final proposals. Responded to service related inquiries regarding quotes, company products, and all other facets of MetLife business.

Developed, planned, and implemented marketing strategies, special events, advertising and promotional campaigns to improve ticket sales, attendance, atmosphere, awareness, and revenue for 24 NCAA Division I sports, including football and men’s and women’s basketball.

Served as the primary media contact for six NCAA Division I sports as well as a secondary contact for football and men’s and women’s basketball. Coordinated all media activities for assigned sports including: layout, design and writing of media guides, press releases, game notes, game programs, and feature articles; while working with local, regional, and national media outlets. Specific tasks included compiling and reporting accurate statistics, rosters, results, and information to media outlets, respective conferences, and the NCAA.

Responsible for designing, writing, and publishing a monthly sports newsletter entitled “The Hornet Insider.” Other duties included publishing weekly Athlete of the Week features for Lynchburg College Sports Web site, “Hornets Online.” Assisted Sports Information Director in compiling records, statistics, and media guides for College’s athletic programs.
