My life’s work in broadcasting has never been focused on one specific thing. I have done everything from the news, to live sports production, to willingly jumping into a brand-new task when a colleague had a career-ending stroke. I am better for that experience.The most important skill I have developed is listening. The next is asking questions which comes after, not before listening. I also have the ability to calmly staying on the task at hand, even when that task is understandably emotional and heavy. I understand the importance of providing steady crisis communications.I also press the importance of building and maintaining long-range communication through ongoing storytelling about your organization through the people on your team and your clients testimonials.
