Provided financial direction and guidance to hospital and/or physician enterprises. Led daily activities as well as direct hospital / physician integrations. Performed complex analysis of integration and present findings to stakeholders.• Interim Financial Leadership: Served as interim Chief Financial Officer for large multi-specialty physician practice with gross revenues of approximately $200 million and 100 physicians. Major projects involve documentation of key CFO functions, ongoing reporting to Board of Directors / Administration and mentoring of accounting staff. Daily activities included cash management, financial analysis and integration of key metrics across departments.• Consulting: Various projects involving hospital / physician integration. Involved with all aspects of projects from client relations and data analysis to presentation of findings and recommendations.

Directed all financial areas of management services organization providing cardiac cath, peripheral and electrophysiology labs, along with cardiac nuclear testing and sleep centers, with multiple facilities located throughout the United States. Responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance of a $51 million (gross revenue per year) business at its peak. Prepared and presented financial reports and information to multiple Boards of Directors comprised of hospital executives, physicians and community leaders.• Financial Process of New Facilities: Created financial projections for all potential new management sites. Determined financial protocols for invoicing and collection of all new facilities. Guided third party experts in establishment of fair market transfer rates for management services across various markets. Arrangements contributed annual net income ranging from $500,000 to $2.5 million per project.• Closure of Mature Arrangements: Provided financial data and analysis for review of facilities no longer fitting within corporate direction or at end of contract. Negotiated with potential buyers for greatest price and / or most favorable terms. Typical closure resulted in gain of $5-10 million.

Managed all financial areas of growing orthopedic practice (from 22 physicians at five locations to 46 physicians at ten locations & from $21 million to $51 million in gross revenues over a ten year period). Directed annual budget process through compilation of final product with presentation to Board of Directors and department managers. Prepared and presented monthly financial reports to Board of Directors and Finance Committee. Fulfilled role of plan sponsor for company profit sharing plan. • MRI Certificate of Need Application: Guided the application process for a fixed MRI Certificate of Need, a challenging two-year process that was initially denied by the state, then appealed with deposition and testimony at State Judicial Review. Successful appeal resulted in adding fixed MRI unit to practice, generating additional $600,000 profits per year.• Stabilizing the Revenue Stream: Developed relative value unit (RVU) cost accounting for practice. Cost results defined contract negotiations with insurance companies which provided approximately 60% of practice patients.• Managing Change: Involved with development of ancillary services (MRI, physical therapy, orthotics and prosthetics) to provide greater patient service and increased revenues to the practice.

Prepared and reviewed income tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, trust & fiduciary). Installed general ledger software at client facilities and trained client personnel in software and bookkeeping responsibilities. Forecasted client transactions for cash flow and income tax ramifications relating to year-end, retirement and saving needs.
