I am an experienced international arbitration lawyer based in London with more than 20 years’ experience of international arbitrations as well as commercial litigation. My practice has a focus on infrastructure and oil and gas disputes, although I have considerable experience of large commercial disputes as well. I am also an active member of the Africa Disputes group and have recently given arbitral training and lectures in Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.Recent representations include:(i) Representation of an African State in a multi-billion-dollar ICC arbitration relating to a contract to build a hydropower plant and also in ancillary arbitral proceedings; (ii) Representing a shareholder in a series of LCIA arbitrations between the shareholders of an oil and gas company concerning a field development plan for two fields and related claims for billions in damages and alleged deferred consideration: and (iii) Representing a shareholder in a joint venture dispute between shareholders relating to a business in the Middle East in both the English Courts and LCIA arbitral proceedingsI have conducted arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA, SIAC and other institutional rules. I also have experience of ad hoc arbitrations and more specialist arbitral fora such as the LME. I am an active contributor to White & Case’s pro bono activities.
