As a 96H, Aerial Intelligence Specialist, I acted as one of a two-man flight crew in the OV-1D Mohawk Aerial Reconnaissance Platform. My duties included mission planning, aircraft pre-flight, system run-up and initialization, in-flight operation of infrared and photographic cameras, Side-Looking Airborne Radar (SLAR), and on-board radio and inertial navigation systems. I was also responsible for mission and flight plan briefing, and post-flight debriefing and consultation with Imagery Analysts. I participated in drug interdiction operations with Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies, and performed aerial surveillance patrols along the U.S.-Mexico border.Trained in battlefield surveillance, principles of Infrared and radar target tracking, photogrammetry and photographic mosaic mapping; survival, evasion, resistance, and escape (SERE), HF, UHF, VHF/ FM and AM tactical FM radios, and imagery analysis.
