My passion lies in broadening the grasp of personalized medicine to unlock the potential of medical care across a diverse range of recipients. Doing research at FSU and working in a lab setting has allowed me to realize I want a more upfront & personal role in the medical field. This leads me to aspire to be a genetic counselor where I can directly connect the people in front of me to my dedication to genetic medical research and advise them on their needs. I recently completed my Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in Summer 2024, and went to the Dominican Republic right after graduating to lead a team of interns in a mobile clinic providing healthcare to impoverished areas. Now, I work as a Genetic Counseling Assistant in the University of Miami Department of Human Genetics at the Miller School of Medicine. This is one more step I've taken towards my career goals. I am proliferous when it comes to absorbing new information & using this knowledge to expand my horizons, and will be using all of my experiences to pursue the goal of acceptance to an accredited Master's in Genetic Counseling program.
