I had the study approved by McGill University’s Committee for Ethical Compliance. I approached several pharmaceutical companies to fund the study. In the end, both Pfizer Canada and Berlex Canada each provided $15,000.00 for the study. I then contacted hundreds of physicians in Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia. I performed 109 telephone interviews with General Practitioners and Specialists in these three provinces. I personally transcribed all of these telephone interviews (and learned how to touch-type 60wpm in the process!)I then proceeded to code each line of the transcribed interviews following Qualitative Research best practices. Using QSR’s NUD*IST software, I analyzed the data. The final report is hundreds of pages of rich data analysis, complete with statistical analysis and reports. The Final Report provides statistically significant insights with actionable plans for the Continuing Medical Education community. My expertise in turning qualitative data into measurable quantitative statistics, as well as developing and marketing an insightful marketing analysis, resulted in implementable and realistic marketing plans for the study sponsors.
