I co-founded Ensemble with Rob Kearns in early 2014, with a formal launch in September of that year. It combined the traditional middlemen roles of artist manager, concert promoter, and record label into one, and aimed to provide mentorship, marketing, and production support for exceptional emerging artists whose music crosses genre lines – with an emphasis on presenting classical and related music in non-traditional settings. I was the company’s managing and creative director, managing a team of five, and my role was primarily centred around artist management, marketing, and PR.In just over 3 years’ existence, Ensemble produced and promoted over 50 events, worked with over 20 artists – including Loah, Rusangano Family, Ensemble Ériu, Kirkos Ensemble, and the late Conor Walsh – bringing them across Ireland and to the UK, France, New York, and SXSW, released 3 critically-acclaimed records and promoted many others, and collaborated with the likes of Body&Soul, Bodytonic, the St. Patrick’s Festival, Improvised Music Company, Homebeat, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and Block T – quickly establishing it as one of Ireland’s most innovative and successful emerging music organisations.

Founded and directed the Night Summit, a music and arts festival as part of the Web Summit Summit in Dublin. In 2013 it consisted of over 50 music acts and visual artists from Ireland and abroad, and the festival is now a pillar of the Web Summit and its sister events' programmes – expanding into Lisbon, New Orleans, Toronto, Hong Kong, and India.

As head of marketing for one the most successful business events in Ireland, I was directly responsible for general ticket sales and over half of the total revenue for the Web Summit in Dublin, the London Web Summit, the Europas in Berlin, and other events around the world. I learned, crafted and implemented some of the most sophisticated online marketing techniques being used by any event in the world, resulting in a 150% increase in attendees in 2013 compared to the previous year, including a 400% increase in attendees from abroad and a 1000% increase in startup exhibitors – making it the biggest tech startup conference in the world and the biggest business event of any kind in Ireland.

10 Days In Dublin was Ireland’s only completely non-curated multidisciplinary arts festival, modelled on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. I joined the team in its second year as the Festival Coordinator for music, helping to triple its quantity of music acts and make it the largest arts festival in Ireland. Each of the concerts I was responsible for was a success with the majority selling out, which resulted in music being the most lucrative stream of the festival that year.
