At the heart of Iress is a CRM and sales system all integrated to an external accounting system, this is where I lived and breathed for the longest time.As Product owner and SME for CRM and related tools, I oversaw future design direction. This extended to how they are technically implemented, including integrations. Allowed me to contribute to solutions and technical discussions across projects. Acting as billing system specialist, this was a ground up opportunity to develop software and the processes that go with it. This brought the integration of Iress sales and billing systems, which enabled inventory checking, and quite powerful reporting capabilities. Over time, systems from acquisitions have been integrated into Iress CRM and sales systems. All this has been developed on our intranet system hooking up to MS SQL server.

From a niche small company, DFS quickly grew to become market leaders in the development and support of financial systems. Their share trading systems was used by a broad range of professionals across Australia and New Zealand, and quickly became industry standard.My roles started in consulting but as the company grew I moved onto special projects throughout DFS’s product suit. Mostly developing in a MS Visual C++ client\server with an MS SQL back-end, with a couple of VB projects thrown in for good measure.
