Rob holds a dual-title Ph.D. in Adult Education + Lifelong Learning & Comparative and International Education from The Pennsylvania State University. Grounded in critical theory and theories of adult learning, his research focuses on the systemic barriers that preclude individuals and groups from participating in the formal health and education systems. Employing ethnographic methods, Rob has conducted multiple studies on Health Literacy and HIV/AIDS and Hypertension in Tanzania and Uganda. He delves deep to understand the interconnected nature of power, culture, and ideological difference and how those dynamics construct social identity. Rob is passionate about issues of social justice, cultural difference, and developing sustainable initiatives that address community needs. Prior to completing his Ph.D., Rob spent over 10 years in sales and project management in the technology and wireless sectors. With a unique blend of academic and corporate experience, Rob will always bring an evidence based and best of practice approach to his work.
