Created myTank - an aggregator of fuel prices & rewards programs in South Africa.The progressive web app allows users to find the best value when filling up their vehicle. Users set their tank size, fuel type and the rewards programs they use, and myTank calculates the best place to fill up based on a variety of factors. MyTank shows fuel prices, details on ATMs, facilities and restaurants and lets users know exactly how much they can expect to earn from each rewards program.

Our intention is nurture a strong interest and understanding in dreaming, designing and building real things. Our products are both sold online and in brick and mortar stores around the country.

Created a daytime cafe / coffee shop. I had no prior experience in the industry but was able to quickly grow it into a thriving business by focusing on the entire customer experience rather than just the menu. Red Sofa Cafe became well known as a vibrant local establishment. While operating the business I built a custom set of restaurant tools (automated order management, menu costing, payroll, shift rostering and human resources ) after noticing a lack of useful tools for small startups in the hospitality sector. This helped reduce food costs and allow for smooth remote operation of all aspects of the business.In 2019 the I opened an online deli and mealbox delivery service with a focus on providing a curated and discounted box of essential groceries that customers could add to and customise, and achieved continued growth, building a competitive and unique offering in a rapidly growing sector.Negotiated a successful sale of the business in 2020.

My passion for problem solving and coding began in earnest here and I helped design and build custom point of sale system and a dedicated movie trailer kiosk.

Created an adventure tourism company offering high adrenaline day trips. The business grew to offer multi-day trips that included surfing, sandboarding, wine tasting, shark diving and whale watching. I sold the business in 2009
