I was chosen as 1 of only 50 people in the World to test drive the Project Catalyst Fund 1 project!

Over the past number of years, I have been working on a Digital Transformation Project in Leeds with AMT - helping them to upgrade their website and migrate their back-office systems to the Salesforce Cloud.After initially creating an “As-Is” “To-Be” document working with the key Stake Holders, I was asked to build two new Agile teams to deliver the recommended solution managed using Jira and daily stand-ups. The key achievement was to architect and then deliver a solution that would allow the new website and Salesforce Cloud to be able to share the complex data stored within the newly designed Azure SQL Server Databases via an API Gateway and a number of Microservices.Another major accomplishment was to understand and build an automated ETL process and scalable cloud solution that could handle the extremely large amount of daily changing vehicle data and supplier pricing data feeds.As well as managing the two teams and projects and working on the data and API, I was also able to spot and take ownership of the entire IT infrastructure. This resulted in a massive cost cutting of £xx per year alongside upgrading the ageing infrastructure - a task that would involve changing IT Support supplier, mobile provider, installing Fibre Broadband, replacing every desktop, hotspot, router, firewall and installation of a new Telephone SIP – I had a truly transforming effect on the company.

During this short contract I migrated reports from a legacy vb.net application to a new centralised SSRS Web Portal.Key Responsibilities:• Extracted SQL code from an existing vb.net application.• Built new SQL Server 2016 stored procedures/functions using T-SQL.• Using Visual Studio 2017 and SQL Server Management Studio 2016 built SSRS reports and deployed them to a new SSRS Reporting Server.• Designed and built a new Dashboard driven report for that drills down into the data via a series of high-level measures.• Optimised a number of existing SQL functions by either re-writing or creating indexes.

I was asked to take the lead in designing and installing the Cloud based IT and Telecoms infrastructure for a newly formed Contact Centre. The brief was to build a scalable infrastructure that would require minimum maintenance for the next 2 years with reliance on self-serve reporting.Key Responsibilities:• Planned the Microsoft Azure based IT infrastructure.• Setup and configured the virtual hosted Windows Server and installed 15 PC’s.• Built the corporate emails and website using WordPress 4.8 and MySQL 5.7.• Installed and configured the new online/mobile CRM with the following modules:- Leads, Opportunities, Prospects, Documents, Campaign Management, Renewals, Tickets, Knowledge Base, Telephony, Email.• Installed the agents Telephones and configured their SIP accounts.• Built Wallboards using PHP and MySQL wall mounted using Amino A140 box.• Documented various processes including how to use the CRM and how to add new agents to the CRM and configure their hardware/telephony.• Built a master Microsoft Excel Power Pivot spreadsheet that was used by management for self-serve reports and linked to the Microsoft Azure Database.

I was very successful in introducing and developing many innovative Agile led processes including Real-Time Lead Loading, Campaign Management Dashboards, Wallboards and the Data Warehouse. • Investigated the existing infrastructure, planned via a series of workshops, documented then implemented changes to the current architecture.• Planned, designed and built the new SQL Server infrastructure.• Built new Contact Centre agent scripts using PHP 5.3.• Planned and built a new real-time data service using PHP, SSIS, SSRS, incorporating advanced T-SQL based functions and procedures.• Built and managed a team of technical staff using Jira/Confluence.A major success was designing an industry first process that ensured a high sales uptake and was a main contributor to the success of campaigns and future business. The turnover grew from £250k to £3m, staff grew from 30 to 300+ with the addition of 3 extra offices.

I enjoyed a long-term contract with the Mobile and Landline Telecoms Provider and helped to design, develop and support a CRM and other back office systems. Initially part of a 2-man department growing to 7 after 4 years. Turnover grew from £4m to £12m.Key Responsibilities:• Enhanced and then took over the development of the Sales CRM using SQL and vb6 - ported it later to vb.net.• Built multiple Wallboards to show real-time departmental ticket queues using PHP 5.2, SQL Server 2008 r2 functions.• Performed many DBA functions such as backup and T-SQL.• Automated the integration of external Provisioning and Client Services emails into SQL Server using vb.net.• Built a 6 screen Reception Wall board complete with Videos and Animations and a method to publish various welcome messages on a ticker at the bottom of the display. • I used Photoshop to build various adverts, vb.net for the messaging and built and edited videos using HitFilm Express.• Corporate Photographer (Golf Days & Public Announcements).

My 1st full time job from leaving University was to be part of the Technical Support team in the Corporate Energy company head quarters based in Swindon, Wiltshire. I quickly moved over to the development team and created my own technical development and support role.After a year I become part of a two man team (later just myself) to develop the corporate backup solution initially ADSL and later renamed to Tivoli Backup. This was an extremely challenging role which took me to seminars at Oxford University and visits to most of the Power Stations owned by Innogy (formely National Power, now RWE).After an opportunity arose to be based in Goole, Yorkshire I relocated and continued to support the backup and disaster recovery systems for the entire network which consisted of over 2000 pc's and servers based in Swindon and over 20 plus Power Stations.This was a very enjoyable role which gave me a great understanding of corporate systems.It was envisaged I would re-join the team in Swindon and move onto a more senior position within the corporate structure but I had further ambition to start my own company.

This was my placement year at University, my main responsibility was to automate the testing of their Transaction Server - CICS product
