Represented Northern California community colleges at the state level and advocated for an increase in investments in higher education. This required lobbying work in the State Capitol for bills that pertained to community colleges and higher education in general. During this time, I would also focus on the internal structure of the organization (i.e. bylaws, constitution, relations with local senates, etc.).

Served as the chief executive of Northern California community colleges that allowed me to act as a liaison between the state level and local level. During this time, I reformed the constitution and bylaws for self governance, created a new office in which an individual may serve as a liaison between California State University's that resided in our jurisdiction and with the Region I Executive Board. I also reformed and helped organize local student senate organizations that were nonactive during my tenure.
